To date, there are 3 CDM projects submitted to the DNA - 3 Project Idea Notes (PINs) and 2 Project Design Documents (PDDs). The projects submitted to the DNA for initial review and approval involve one waste-to-energy project and two cogeneration project.

Sustainable Development Criteria and Indicators for the CDM
   The Designated National Authority (DNA) will consider each Project application against these indicators and will make an assessment of whether, on balance, the Project supports sustainable development in the country. In some instances, the project may have a negative impact on one or more dimensions of sustainable development and a positive impact on the other dimensions.
   The DNA will evaluate CDM projects submitted to it through consideration of the following main criteria:

Economic: Does the project contribute to economic development in Mauritius?
 
Social: Does the project contribute to social development in Mauritius?
 
Environmental: Does the project conform to the Environment Protection Act 2002 principles of sustainable development
   In this evaluation the DNA will use the Sustainable Development Indicators contained in the table hereunder.
