​Disposal of Condemned Goods

Condemned goods are goods that are found to be unfit for use/ consumption. They are disposed at the Mare Chicose Landfill and are normally disposed of in the waste mass early in the morning under the supervision of officers of the Ministry of Social Security, National Solidarity, and Environment and Sustainable Development (Solid Waste Management Division),  the Ministry of Health & Quality of Life and the landfill operator.

The generators of condemned goods or the Ministry of Health & Quality of Life may declare a particular good as condemned and unsuitable for consumption/use. Disposal at the landfill is effected on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10.00 am to 14.00.


Procedures for Disposal of Condemned Goods

  1. Upon receipt of request for disposal of the condemned goods, the Ministry processes the file for approval by Director, Solid Waste Management Division.
  2. After disposal of the condemned goods, a Certificate is issued to the generator by the Ministry to confirm the final disposal.
  3. A licensed Waste Carrier should be used to convey the goods to the Landfill.​​
